Woodcut and Laser print Stone Lithography and Copper Etching

*"Having honed my craft in woodcut and laser printing since my secondary school days in 1989, I'm eager to explore the exciting possibilities of laser cutting. This technique offers unparalleled precision and detail, allowing me to replicate intricate patterns with remarkable accuracy. While the medium may differ, the potential for vibrant oil-based inks remains as exciting as ever. These inks, perfect for mixed media, complement my love for charcoal drawing and painting. I envision using woodcut as a foundation for charcoal details or creating dynamic monoprints by adding paint to wet ink.

The possibilities are endless, and I can't wait to experiment and create unique pieces that blend traditional and innovative techniques. My goal is to push the boundaries of printmaking, exploring the synergy between the old and the new."*

Dreaming of a butterfly

In my work, Crossing, I delve into the profound impact and collective trauma people experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic through a combination of images. Three female figures portray the various changes brought about these challenging times, such as the immense loss of lives—resulting in widespread grief and mourning, social distancing, and the impact on human social interactions, daily routines, and overall well-being.
