About Us

Your MOTHER gallery was established on 31 December 2004 to provide artists in Singapore an alternative and affordable art space; owner and resident artist Jeremy Hiah lives and works here.

This gallery was inspired by Jeremy’s travels in Europe between 1998 and 2000. He met many artists and seen many alternative galleries–in people’s kitchens, abandoned apartments, public spaces like corridors or under a bridge, and even bombed buildings that were converted to art spaces.

Your MOTHER gallery is situated along a quiet lane off Jalan Besar–Hindoo Road–evoking a colourful, exciting and delicious atmosphere. The people of this area are a curious mix of backpackers, tourists, immigrant workers, locals looking for vintage goods and a cultural experience, hustlers, hipsters, old-timers, residents and many more.
